I wrote about that a couple of days ago: I wrote about the Apple's will to brick your unlocked iPhone during the last firmware update (version 1.1.1).
It's a clear will from Apple as DVD John pointed out days ago. Now, with the new firmware out there, it's confirmed that many unlocked iphones became just useless bricks to keep papers on your desk in order.

In the yesterday's show David Letterman destroys Paris Hilton during an amazing - and pretty bastard, too - interview. Must see.

This software could be definitely a killer app for your Nintendo DS: SvSIP is a client for VOIP services out there using the standard protocol SIP.
I've yet to test it because I've no VOIP account using that protocol: as you know Skype uses definitely a closed protocol.
UPDATE: Now I do have a VOIP account with SIP Protocol. I opened an account on voipbuster. I tried to call my landline phone trough the Linphone software, a SIP client available for Linux (just apt-get it!). Here are the instructions about how to use linphone and voipbuster.

According to Gizmodo (who can fill the Hoff's Leather Pants?), it seems that Knight Rider (in Italy aka "Supercar") is to return to fill our countless spare hours... Are you going to wait in front of your tv, aren't you? You should...
it's not sure who is going to replace our Hero - as Gizmodo pointed out-, but anyway I would remember our beloved David when he was in his best shape.

Cosa succederebbe se nelle grandi aziende lavorassero solo internet-addicted tipo i commentatori di Digg ??
Splendido video.

whooo, take a look at this picture.
Wozniak and Steve Jobs, back in 1975, with the BlueBox device, a phreaking tool used to obtain free calls from ATT framework. Jobs solded those devices to his friends in Berkeley.
Kinda interesting to see now (thanks Woz who uploaded the picture in his blog at woz.org) that Apple is locking his iphone to use only the ATT network; indeed (according to Gizmodo, seems) Apple is also trying to make more difficult and dangerous to unlock the iphone, denying technical assistance (and blacklisting them) to unlocked iphones.
UPDATE: Apple is not only denying assistance to unlocked iphones... they say that the next firmware update (coming in this week) will brick the evil iphones! The Apple statement:
Apple has discovered that many of the unauthorized iPhone unlocking
programs available on the Internet cause irreparable damage to the
iPhone's software, which will likely result in the modified iPhone
becoming permanently inoperable when a future Apple-supplied iPhone
software update is installed. Apple plans to release the next iPhone
software update, containing many new features including the iTunes
Wi-Fi Music Store (www.itunes.com), later this week. Apple strongly
discourages users from installing unauthorized unlocking programs on
their iPhones. Users who make unauthorized modifications to the
software on their iPhone violate their iPhone software license
agreement and void their warranty. The permanent inability to use an
iPhone due to installing unlocking software is not covered under the
iPhone's warranty.
UPDATE2: DVD John explains some details about the evil Apple and the _will_ to brick the unlocked iphones. Isn't in any way necessary: firmware is not magic: as the hackers can replace the original firmware with a different one without SIM verification, Apple could restore the original firmware with his update.

Wow, it seems the emoticon (yep, like this one :-) is going to get in his 25th birthday!
The first time someone used an ASCII chars combination to describe a feeling was back in 1982, 19th September: the artist was Scott Fahlman, a research professor at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pensnylvania, USA. Here it's the original thread where Scott used the first "smiley".
I was speaking yesterday with Rosarossa, trough Skype, about emoticons and, specially, about how much I hate the gif version of the emoticons or - even worse - the animated version. I think that you've somehow to respect the roots, the traditions: I mean, the smiley, specially in a cute font, are soooo nice.
Why do you have to bother your chatmates with colors, animations and - grrrr - sounds?? Com'on, we don't need that!

Why I'm interested in hacker activity and efforts? This news about itouch is pretty clear.
iPod touch crippled deliberately: Apple crippled the 'add event' feature in the calendar application, installed in ipod touch. That means that the calendar app can only be synchronized with your desktop: you can view and access everything you wrote on your laptop/desktop but no editing will be allowed. I just want to point out that you can add event in the calendar in your nokia phones since (8?) years... And you don't need to be a genius to get that when you're on the go, you need to use your palmheld to add events instead of opening your laptop on a bus. Even without comparing with different phones, your soooo-old ipod (like the III generation) could only view calendar events, without any editing features. But your ooooold ipod had no way to write something... sure, writing something with the wheel is painfull, but with the new georgeus ipod's touchscreen??
