Why I love Gizmodo

UPDATE 15 Jan 2008: The new answer (to life, the universe and everything) from Gizmodo. Read it here. Chapeau.

This is why I love Gizmodo.

During the last CES, a guy from Gizmodo (Brian Lam) used a TV-B-Gone to switch off ghostly televisions and monitors (even during the Motorola's show).

This device is used to switch off televisions and Brian Lam used it a lot during the CES. The backfire was quite hard: they banned Gizmodo to attend any future event organized.

Well, it was something really funny (at least for gizmodo and for us) but it's hard to provide any type of defense (nor justification) to the author of this mess.
The CES is a business event and the companies there spent a lot of money to get in there and organize shows.

So, conclusions: I love this kind of joke but it wasn't the right place to do that. Any way, I'd love to do the same.

Here you find the confession from the Gizmodo staff, along with the apologies. Uh, right: you find also the video of the TV-B-Gone roundup during the CES. :)
And here a couple of words from Brian Lam himself.
